Because no one should have to put their family, their assets or their pet at risk when you bring a dog into your family.
Beth DeLaForest has stayed true to this fundamental principle since 2003. Beth found that pit bulls were given a bad name and to her, this was wrong. She decided to fight for her pit pull, Brea, and lean on her professional expertise as an Independent Insurance Agent licensed in MN and WI to make change. Started with volunteering Beth started volunteering for A Rotta Love Plus, a MN based Pit Bull and Rottweiler Rescue. Beth is one of 3 founding members who molded A Rotta Love into what you see today (www.arottalove.org). Then educating While with A Rotta Love, Beth started the Dog Safety Program, piloting the program with Crossroads Elementary in St. Paul. This program educates children about dog safety. Children have a hands-on experience with a vetted dog which is a pit bull or Rottweiler – teaching safety while showing off breed ambassadors! This program later grew into partnering with the Children’s Museum and various other venues, even birthday parties! Beth was even featured in a State Farm magazine for the program she started. This program is still in force today and has reached thousands of children. Then legislating In 2008, Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) was introduced in MN. The bill proposed a state-wide ban of pit bulls, Akita’s, Chows, Rottweiler’s, and wolf-hybrids. A Rotta Love had assembled a coalition when they caught wind of the bill, Beth spoke at the Legislative session against the ban on behalf of A Rotta Love and breed owners of MN. The breed ban bill died very quickly with no legislators interested in such a law. The next year, Beth worked on the dangerous dog law in MN to create a responsible dog owner bill. This was a program designed to educate owners of designated dangerous dog/ potentially dangerous dog with the intent to remove the designation on the dog once the course was completed. This bill was not introduced as there was a cost associated with the program and the MN budget was at a deficit this specific year. Then training Beth started Rott N Pit Ed, a training program free for life for fosters and to those whom adopt through A Rotta Love Plus. There is a discount offered to the public who want to attend Rott N Pit Ed. This resource is a safe place for people who have Pit Bulls and Rottweiler’s, their focus is to create breed ambassadors before a dog is even adopted out! Beth is not a trainer BUT with the resources she had was able to put the right people in the right places to get the program up and running. Today the program is still running strong, helping many, and is funded in part by grants. Then learning Beth left State Farm in 2010 to become an Independent Insurance Agent on her own through an established Agency in the MN Metro area. From 2010-2014 Beth focused on learning the Independent side of insurance – Then starting Beth started Aspire Insurance Group Inc (www.aspireinsurancegroup.com), a part of Insurance Producers Network (www.insuranceproducersnetwork.com) and Doggoneinsurance.com, which is a part of Aspire Insurance Group Inc. This allowed Beth the freedom to combine her passion with protection so you can have peace of mind and relief having a dog in your home.
